Williams Hybrid Power Ltd was highly commended for its flywheel technology that builds on its Formula One experience, by developing versions suitable for deployment in the mass vehicle market and in so doing significantly reduce carbon emissions. By providing a cost effective, environmentally friendly solution for energy storage in vehicles this could dramatically speed up the roll-out of hybrid cars.
